EL HUACAL.

LISTENING SESSIONS

Marco Albert is a co-founder of the audiovisual collective Otolab, founded in 2001 in Milan by a group of musicians, DJs, VJs, video artists, video makers, web designers, graphic designers, and architects who came together to pursue a shared path in electronic music and audiovisual research.
Projects are developed through laboratory work, seminars, and live performances, according to principles of mutual exchange and support, free circulation of knowledge, and experimentation.
The production consists of collective and individual projects for which sounds ranging from experimental electronic to techno, from dub to industrial are used, always seeking a symbiotic relationship with image and video.
Otolab is a cultural association that produces live media, audio and audiovisual projects, installations, seminars, and workshops.
Over the years, they have appeared at festivals, cultural events, museums, and galleries both nationally and internationally, and have collaborated on self-managed cultural initiatives.

Listening sessions have been an essential part of El Huacal's activities since its inception, both to showcase the creative processes of the invited artists and to disseminate cultural aspects related to music and sound art.

They were organized with and within various art and cultural venues in the city of Oaxaca de Juárez, as well as in El Huacal itself: the Central Public Library; El Venadito cultural space; La Locomotora performing arts space; and La Jícara cultural space and independent bookstore.
