ARROJO Y PALPITAR, exhibition of paintings

With works by Josué Vázquez, Luz Selene Márquez, Ivy E. Márquez, Daniel Cruz

October 25 - December 15, 2014

Concept

The study of drawing, whether with a live model or an academy, has been the fundamental exercise in the formal manipulation of the human body in art, from graphic media to sculpture and its diverse representations in painting. This has contributed to differentiating ways of perceiving reality, fantasy, imagination, and dreams. Whether by era, universal style, or individual approach, the draughtsman has analyzed humanity from his own perspective, within the very conception of humanity to which he belongs.

OBSESIÓN by Mark Hegemann

16.04 - 15.05.2015

Throughout his professional and geographical exploration, Mark Hegemann has pursued the desire to make painting his living space. He reached this goal through illustration and design, where he trained professionally. His paintings are works of sincerity; the shapes, colors, and textures convey his journey and his passion. For the OBSESSION exhibition, the works that perhaps best represent the freedom with which Mark Hegemann moves have been selected. The circular forms take on different dimensions, in some cases suggesting visions of the cosmos, in others infinite spirals, but all exude his natural traits that require nothing more than impartial observation to explore the movement and fluidity with which they were conceived.

PUPPET ODS by Marco Buonamico

May 23 - June 22, 2015

"Hand-woven humanoids come to life in a world where time stands still and only fantasy and imagination exist, a world made of iron wire. Meters of wire, which create a new society, that of the PUPAZZOIDI, posing the challenge of finding the subtle balance between the hardness of the material and the soft movements of the characters who join and entangle from a single "wired" umbilical cord.

VIEJOS MOROS Y DIABLOS by Baltazar Castellano Melo

12.09 - 11.10.2015

From the text of the exhibition: The series VIEJOS MOROS Y DIABLOS draws inspiration from the masks used in various dances, which become performance arts; dances are social practices in which rituals arise from the moment the dancer begins to don their own clothes to please the community during festive events and customs related to nature and the universe.
